Does Weight Loss Formula No. 1 contain lectins?
We don’t routinely test for the lectin content of WLF1. As you many know, lectins are naturally-occurring plant proteins found at low levels in many common fruits and vegetables, including apples, bananas, cucumbers and sweet peppers. Higher levels are found in dried beans and other types of legumes, although these are typically denatured during cooking. As you mentioned, the seeds of Dolichos biflorus also contain a very specific lectin. This lectin is used as a reagent for a laboratory test that helps identify people with a Type A1 blood type. This information is especially helpful to provide the best match should someone need a blood transfusion.
However, as with any dietary supplement, it is always best to talk to your doctor before taking WLF1 (or any supplement) to ensure it is appropriate for your individual health care needs.
