Vitamin D3 Dosage Recommendations


Healthy adults need to get enough vitamin D on a regular basis to maintain an adequate blood level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D -- the major circulating form of vitamin D in the body. Most healthy adults can achieve this with a daily supplement providing 1,000 IU/day of vitamin D such as RealDose® Vegan Vitamin D3.

You can get too much vitamin D, which can result in potential adverse effects. According to the Institute of Medicine, the highest intake of vitamin D likely to be safe for almost all healthy adults is 4,000 IU/day.
