What is menopause?
Menopause is a normal event in a woman's life and is defined as the final menstrual period. It is due to the loss of ovarian follicular function, usually due to aging. Menopause can occur naturally (on average around age 51) or it can be induced through medical intervention such as surgery, chemotherapy or pelvic radiation.http://www.menopause.org/docs/2012/cg_a.pdf?sfvrsn=2.
